My name is David Bitterman. In thinking of a name for a new email address I wondered, what is the value of a name in a digital reality? First name = 1 char, Last name = 3 char, I ended up with Dbit, which I’ve used as a production moniker ever since. Perhaps not the easiest name to say or remember, but it stuck.
I’m a music producer by passion, and have worked with traditional and electronic music for over 20 years now. My tastes were tempered in the fire of the early 90′s Detroit techno scene, and the music scene in Detroit in general. My musical interests vary from Hip Hop to Techno to Noize and beyond. Really, anything sonically interesting that’s not trance or country is cool by me. Bluegrass gets a pass tho. These days I’m primarily working on Hip Hop, Experimental music, and Techno, although I do get bored if I don’t stretch myself with new ideas.
I also produce a variety of multimedia work, including motion graphics & video, which may be added to this site from time to time.
